caps for good

The Caps for Good grassroots initiative will be running from September 2010 through February, 2011 encouraging citizens of all ages to participate by making a cap and advocating and fundraising to provide newborn care in developing countries.

At the end of the program, caps will be distributed to pregnant women and new moms and their babies in Save the Children's programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America.   Go to www.goodgoes.org/caps for more information.

KNITTING NELL is part this fabulous program.  For more information about how to connect your young knitters to Nell's story, contact Julie at jersildroth [at] earthlink [dot] net.

TEACHERS, PARENTS, HOME AND UN-SCHOOLERS

I have used the KNITTING NELL theme of 'doing what you love' with many different groups of children.
We talk about how when we do what we love, we create a field of good energy around ourselves.
That field is fueled by the heart (There is solid science behind this -- which is also fun to talk about!).

When we are doing what we love, people around us are affected by our
good energy and our good thoughts.  It is powerful!

If you'd like to know more about how to use this idea with your children, email me for more information.
